The deadline for applications is May 11th.
To expand our ability to improve the environment and global health, a new level of innovation in nuclear energy is needed. The Nuclear Innovation Bootcamp will train the next generation of students in developing and executing ideas that work in the world–providing them the tools to make a real impact.
The Nuclear Innovation Alliance (NIA) and UC Berkeley are partnering with Third Way and a collection of leading companies, laboratories, and universities for this summer’s two-week program from August 1-12, 2016. Links here to course work and syllabus.
Twenty five students will be trained in entrepreneurship and nuclear-specific concerns beyond standard university education and will put that training to use through team design projects. The bootcamp will feature speakers from successful startups both within and outside nuclear energy, and mentors from across the country will be available for the teams.
We encourage anyone with an interest in the nuclear energy industry to apply. Current engineering graduate or undergraduate students who have completed at least their third year are encouraged to apply for this summer’s session; applications from current students and recent graduates interested in communications are also welcome. Please fill out an application here by April 30.
Students will be notified of acceptance decisions no later than May 31. Accepted students will be provided with housing and meals for the duration of the program. Once accepted, a non-refundable $200 registration fee will be required to confirm placement. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide travel assistance at this time.
